Hardy Waterlilies
Hardy waterlilies will grace your pond year after year!
You insure..
*5 to 6 hours of direct sunlight for full sun, at least 3 to 4 hours of direct sun for partial to full sun
*still water--if you can see ripples in the water, waterlily will most likely not bloom
*plant with heavy topsoil or aquatic planting media in container recommended & fertilize with lilytabs monthly or stakes annually, place in pond with 6 to 12 inches of water over the container
*prune dead leaves and blooms as they become spent, about once a week during the growing season
*divide every one to three years
*deter predators, which include muskrats, nutria, ducks, geese, swans, deer, crayfish, cattle, turtles and fish over 8".
Your reward is..
*blossoms-generally one or two at a time, lasting about 3 to 4 days, opening in the am and closing each afternoon
*shade for your fish and reduction of unwanted algae growth, the average lily covers 6 to 10 square feet, we recommend that 60% of your pond surface be covered with plants
*additional waterlilies every one to three years
All waterlilies are shipped bareroot and are intended for use in enclosed bodies of water. Check with your local extension agency prior to adding any aquatic plants to a non-enclosed enviornment.
All waterlilies are available pre-potted at our retail store. If you wish to pick up bareroot plants, please order in advance.
