Cyperus alternifolius
Stems on this plant are topped with a "sprout" of leaves that may reach 24" across on larger, mature specimens forming the namesake "umbrella". These leaf clusters are viviparous and may form small plant-lets. This variety tolerates colder weather better than other Tropical Bogs and will overwinter outdoors to Zone 7.
