The Source for Water Gardening, since 1917

When may I resume feeding my fish?

Once water temperatures reach 50 degrees F or higher consistently, it is time to resume feeding your fish. When water temperatures are below 50 degrees F, your fish's digestive system actually stops functioning. So, it's very important to wait until water (not air) temperatures are consistently 50 degrees F or higher. This is why it is best to feed your fish either, cold weather or variety mix(three season) food in early spring because it is more easily digested. Avoid feeding your fish high growth and energy food in early spring as it takes longer to digest.
